Bad Dreams No.22 – Forma et Umbra is a black-and-white close composition where the image is constructed almost entirely from light and shadow. The frame is intentionally cropped to remove identity and context, leaving only sculptural contour, surface grain, and a sharp boundary between illumination and darkness. Form is revealed by the shadow it creates — minimal, direct, and controlled.
The photograph is restrained and graphic, closer to abstraction than narrative. Light is directional and precise, shaping volume through contrast while keeping the half-tones soft and tactile. The result is intimate but disciplined: a study of presence defined by geometry, texture, and the quiet drama of chiaroscuro.
