Nude Shade No.56 – Cowgirl is a black-and-white figure study built on tension between softness and structure. The body is posed with sculptural clarity—an interplay of extended line and bent knee—while the chair introduces a second geometry: hard edges, carved ornament, and a quiet sense of weight.
The image is composed with deliberate restraint. Shadows gather around the figure, isolating the form from any overt narrative and pushing attention toward proportion, posture, and the precision of tonal transitions. Light traces the torso and limbs as if modelling a surface, while the surrounding darkness holds the scene in suspension—intimate, controlled, and unmistakably still.
Within the Nude Shade series, the nude is treated as an artistic form rather than a provocation: rhythm, balance, and the relationship between the figure and space. Here, the interior setting functions almost like a stage—minimal, silent, and designed to emphasize the physical presence of the subject.
