The subject walks along the shoreline, partially embraced by the foam of the incoming waves, while the horizon and open sky create a sense of quiet expansiveness.
The Latin title “Spuma Deorum,” meaning *foam of the gods*, evokes mythological associations with the sea and with classical narratives of emergence and transformation. Within the Incognito series, the anonymity of the figure remains central: the body is seen from behind, allowing the scene to function less as a portrait and more as a symbolic presence within the landscape.
