The Philosophy of the Limited Edition
A limited edition matters because limitation itself creates value. In this studio, every artwork released as a fine art print is strictly limited to a maximum of 30 prints worldwide—across all sizes. This number is never exceeded.
When you acquire a piece, it is not an endless commercial reproduction. Each print is individually inspected, signed, and numbered by the artist. This establishes the work’s fixed place within my catalog and guarantees its long-term value for private collectors and curated spaces.
Professional Studio Production (Not Outsourced)
Every edition is produced at my dedicated print studio. Unlike mass-produced, outsourced Print-on-Demand services, all printing is handled by a specialized team under my direct supervision. This business model allows us to maintain absolute control over the equipment, the calibration, and the physical presence of the final artwork. It is a craft-focused process where each print is treated as a piece of art, not a warehouse commodity.
Technical Specifications & Archival Quality
The final quality comes from a rigorous, professional-grade production chain. We use museum-quality materials designed for long-term preservation:
- The Printer & Inks: Epson SureColor P20000 with 10-Color UltraChrome PRO Inks. This state-of-the-art 10-color pigment ink system includes four levels of black (Photo Black, Matte Black, Dark Gray, and Light Gray). This configuration is essential for high-end photography: it delivers unparalleled black density (Dmax), eliminates bronzing, and ensures exceptionally smooth, grain-free tonal transitions.
- The Paper: Ilford Galerie Prestige Smooth Pearl 310gsm. A heavyweight, high-density photographic paper selected for its gallery-level performance. Its signature “pearl” finish strikes the perfect balance—it minimizes glare and reflections while delivering deep, rich blacks and vibrant color saturation.
Archival Storage & Preservation
How a print is handled before it reaches the collector is as important as the printing itself. We adhere to strict archival standards:
- Flat Storage: Unlike commercial shops that keep prints rolled in tubes, all our artworks are stored in a flat, spread-out state until the moment of purchase. This preserves the structural integrity of the 310gsm paper and prevents curling.
- Protective Interleaving: Each print is interleaved with a specialized thin cotton glassine (calque). This archival-grade material is soft and cloth-like, with no abrasive texture. It protects the delicate pearl surface from micro-scratches and dust, ensuring the texture remains flawless.
- Handling & Packing: Prints are handled with the utmost care. For shipping, they are softly and precisely rolled only at the last moment, protected by the same archival cotton tissue to ensure they arrive in perfect condition.
Customization & Bespoke Formats
While the strict edition limit of 30 remains constant, the physical format can be tailored to your space. Whenever technically possible, artworks can be adapted to custom dimensions or prepared as black-and-white/color variations, provided the final result remains true to the visual language of the piece. Please note: Any custom variation still counts toward the 30-print global edition limit.
